Unaccountable Injuries. few miles east of town, may lose a valu- ‘able mare as the result of an unac- countable injury received sometime during Sunday, last. Mr. Grant .had returned Sunday froma trip to Ne- vada, and when about to feed his stock in the evening, found this mare lying on the ground and unable to get up. An examination showed some wounds in the side, and it is possible that the mare was kicked by some of the others with whom she was turned out and fell upon an iron toothed harrow. At any rate there was such a harrow in the lot where the animals were loosed, and the ; wounds are of a kind that bear out this theory. The wounds are serious and it may be necessary to shoot the mare. : Ferrell-Wix. J. W.
