Noah Bright, Sr., living northwest of town, had a light stroke of paraly- sis Tuesday. Mrs. Hiram Bassett had the misfor- tune last week to fall and dislocate both wrists. We had the pleasure last week of enjoying eating bananas with a lady who is a real estate agent in Foster. Ha! ha! Wiley Woods returned from Mound economize. The company also re- | fused to pay for the phone services and the phone was taken out. We suggest if the Pacific Company wants to further economize that it lock up the depot and load the passengers from the cattle chute at the stock yard. Our lady agent, Miss Edyth Lyle, we would regret to see stand- ing in the hot sun with prod pole in hand loading passengers for the Mis- souri Pacific, but any old thing will do the people of Foster. DINAH. Orchard Grove. A. E. Moore and family visited at Mr. Thorps Sunday. We are all feeling good over the nice rain of last Saturday. Farmers are getting their corn nicely culti- vated. The ground is in fine con- dition and the prospect fora fair crop is good. The ice cream supper at Orchard Grove proved quite a success finan- cially clearing between sixty and seventy dollars. A herd of cows made a raid on our garden one night last week and our pop’s lamb-like disposition was ruined as well as the garden. People are making great prepara- tions for the Fourth, and so are the doctors. W. P, Cobb and wife were in Rich Hill Saturday shopping. The oats crop isthe best that we have had for many years. The flax is good and the hay crop is fine in this part.
