The Butler Weekly Cimes. VOL. XXIX, BUTLER, MISSOURI, THURSDAY, JULY 18, 1907. NO. 38 My Hair is Extra Long Feed your hair; nourish it; give it something to live on. Then it will stop falling, and will grow long and heavy. Ayer’s Hair Vigor is the only genuine hair-food you can buy. It gives new life to the hair-bulbs. You save what hair you have, and get more, Means “Wooden Canoe.” Walter Williams in the Globe-Democrat. Missouri is an Indian word. It does notand neverdid mean “muddy water,” but “wooden canoe.” It be- longs to the Illinois dialect of the Algonquin Indian language, the lan- guage which was generally spoken (as maintained by many historians) by the various aboriginal tribes which inhabited the country between the Mississippi river and Delaware bay. There never was & subject on which Charley did not have a decided opinion that he was willing to fightfor. Personally, Mr. Lucas isa mighty good fellow, but hefs ajournalistic porcupine. Here’s an example in point from his last issue: In his various letters to the Kan sas City Post, Barney Sheridan speaks of the snakes at Monegaw.
