The suit was for $65,000, the amount of school fands on deposit inthe bank at the time of the bank’s failure. Although the suit was brought against the bank tt {s really against the bondsman of the bank as the bank is insolvent. The bonds- men include many of the wealthiest eltizens in Henry county, Thomas Casey, formely cashier was principle witness. Shortly after his appearance here Casey began his five year term in the state penitentiary given him because of focgeries to which the failure of the bank was greatly due. Judge Neville stated at the conclu- sion of the trial that he would want more time toconslder the case before rendering his decision. A case pend- ing inthe Kansas City courts at that time alsé’ influenced him fn withholding his decision. All the attorneys who had been in- terested {n the case were present when the deci-ion was announced this morning. The bank and the bendsmen fought in every way they could to win the case. Their defense was that the bond had never been approved by the county court, as the law requires, and further that the bank was {nsolvent when the school funds money was accepted for deposit. Both these points were overruled by Judge Neville. A Jefferson City Killing. i. “ Jefferson City, June 18— C. C. The apostle’s resting place was untouched at the time the church was demolished and ras remained unseen except by pope Ciement VIII when the pavement of the crypt collapsed in 1594. Mr. J.
