Windsor, Vt., February 4—A few hours after receiving the last rites of the Catholic church and hearing her father confessor read the prayers for who was sentenced to die upon the gallows to-morrow afternoon, listen- ed with amazement to the announce- ment of High Sheriff Henry N. Peck that Gov. Charles J. Bell had grant- ed her a reprieve of four months that her claim of not having a fair trial might be passed upon by the eu- preme court. Five hundred dollars was offered to Harold Harpin, a guard in the state prison,if he would carry a pack- age of polaon to Mra, Rogers. The offer was made in an anonymous lester from Boston, containing $250 dollars in bills received recently. The writer offered to send another $250 as soon as the poison was de- livered to Mra. Rogers, The guard turned the letter over to Supt Oaks, The postal authorities have been asked to investigate the letter. CASTORIA.
