Tim- monds for judge of the Kansas City court of appeals lately recalls an {n- cident which occured during Mr. Tim- 3 mond’s residence in Stockton 25 or 30 years ago. In addition toediting and publishing the Journal, Mr. Tim: monda was studying to be admitted to the bar and found time somehow to read law and also to act as leader and musical director of the Stockton band. It is related that on one occasion he .was sleeping after his multitudinous duties and in his dreams he thought the band was to start in on a popular air. He count- ed one, two, ready, play, and just at this juncture he awoke to find that the lamp had exploded and his house was on fire. To being leader of the band Mr. Timmonds attributed the saving of his property from destruc- tion and prabably the life of some member of the family.—Stockton Journal. GOOD SPIRITS.
