The Candy Was Poisoned. a Boone, Ia., March 7.—\re, Sher- man Dye is under arrest here, charg- ed with having sent poisoned candy to Miss Rena Nelson at Pierre, 8. D. Miss Nelson, who is reported to be in a dying condition, was formerly an operator in the Boone telegraph ex- change. When arrested, Mrs. Dye denied any knowledge of the poison- ing of Miss Nelson, but admitted that she had cause for grievance against the young woman. Mr. and Mrs. Dye are reported to have been separated since last Christmas. Dye, when told of the arrest of his wife, said that he did not believe there was any foundation tor the charge against her. He admitted that he know Miss Nelson. The hearing on an application for the requisition of Mra. Dye will be held before Governor Cummins at Des Moines Tuesday.
