B.H, Review. J.Q. A. Cope, of New Home Town- ship, was in Rich Hill at noon and stated to our reporter that Aunt Betty Miller, of Walnut Township, | died at Foster yesterday morning. She was the widow of Richard Miller, deceased, who was one of the old set- tlers of Howard Township. She was about 80 years of age. She leaves two children, Mrs. Geo. Davis, of Foster, and Mrs. May Burch, of Oklahoma. She was also the grand- mother of Mrs. C. A. Hurst, of Rich Hill. The burial will take place at Lawrence cemetery Wednesday after- noon. Mr. Cope says the coal pits around Foster are all full of water; they are prospecting the Davis land for coal; the towuship is full of measles, and that two Democratic candidates are out for county treasurer. Jefferson City, Mo., February 14. —Andrew Washington, a negro con- vict, sent to the penitentiary from Buchanan county to serve nineyears on three counts for burglary, of which sentence eighteen months had expired, made his escape from that institution Friday night, but was re- captured and returned to the prison to-night. Washington was employ ed in the Burns shoe company’s shop and Friday evening, on leaving the shops, he managed to get into a large storm buggy standiug within the prison walls without attracting notice. Lackey, State Veterina rian, has announced thathogcholera isnow raging in all parts of Missouri, with indications that all previous records will be broken, and Doctor Graham announced to-day that he will put his discovery to an imme diate test by checking the disease.
