Butler’s new calaboose is noweom- pleted and is all ready to receive boarders. It is loeated on the ground floor of the city building, in} the rear of the room occupied by the fire department. The calaboosecon- sists of three steel cages, each six and one-half feet long, four_and a half feet wide and six and a half feet high. They occupy ground space of thirteen and a half by six and a half feet. Each cell has two swinging bunks which ean be let down when in use. The floor of the room is made of concrete and the cage is anchored to the floor, rendering escape of a prisoner impossible. The bars areof steel and the locking device is ingen- ious and safe A large coal stove has been put in, outsidé of the cage, so that the prisoners may be made comfortable in any kind of weather.
