New Madrid Citizens Lynch Louis Wright. Sever- al boys undertook to take the negro out-when-shootingbegan-from-the negroes on the stage, hitting several white people, but no one was serious- ly hurt. The negrees ran out the back way to their private car, which was sur- rounded by armed men, but owing to the arrival of the town marshal no violence was done. The negroes were put in jail and the town searched and several of the troupe were found hiding at different places, after all were in jail they were put through a “sweating” and the one who did the shooting was diseov- ered. , Last night a crowd of masked men overpowered the jailer and took the repro, bovis Wright; a short dis- tance from town and hung him. The other negroes will be released. Sev- eral of them were badly beaten Sat- urday night. SAYS DEMOCRATS MAY WIN IN ILLINOIS.
