It is reported the engineer of the south bound train had orders to side track his train at this station, but before reaching Butler he fell asleep in his cab and his engine came into the station under a full head of steam and running at a speed of 25 miles an hour, collided with the standing engine. In the wreck three of the trainmen were badly hurt, one of them Edward Lawson, fireman onthe north bound train had both legs crushed and died Saturday afternoon in the hospital at Kansas City. S. Suyder, on the southbound train from the engine before and was pretty badly cut and bruised about the face and bead. Wolfin, a brakeman on the southbound train got caught in the worst of the wreck in front of the depot and was badly hurt.
