Spring time has come and we have returned to our corner again. There has been so much changing around in this neighborhood that we hardly know where we are. Sam Stayton has come home with his blushing bride. J.M. Mayes is visiting in ElDo- rado. We had quite a fire in this neigh- borhood last Tuesday evening. Car- rie Simpson’s house burned to the ground. Walter Hendrickson finished his summer's work at Riley Gilbert's in two days. Wm. Moon, whose wife died recently in Kansas City, spent a few days with his sister, Mrs. Coleman, near Aaron. Mr. and Mrs. John Spearman and Mrs. Martha Brooks, who is visiting them from Topeka, Kans.. visited W. J. Spearman’s Saturday. Jesse Moon of Cass county. and Miss Tula Spearman visited in Henry county Saturday. The Cove Creek Baptist Sunday School elected new officers Sunday. They are J. M. Mayes superintendent, W. E. Shelton assistant, Miss Mattie White secretary, Miss Tula Spear- man assistant. There will be preach- ing the 4th Saturday and Sunday by Rey. Clark of Spruce. There was a large crowd attended Jim Craigmiles’ sale Saturday. Jim was called to his mother’s bedside in Urich before the sale was closed. We have not learned how she is, as he has not returned. Mr. Hayes, has moved on the farm he purchased from Mrs. Polly Starks. Mr. Silvers of Henry county, has located on the I. L. Mayes farm which he bought. He and Mr. Ham- ilton have gone to Henry county on business. Neila Scranton drives a fine black team of horses. Walter Staley spent a few hours in the burg one night last week.
