CROW Will Ask Renomination as At- tornev-General. SIME NOTABLE LEGAL PROCEEDINGS That He Has Instituded. The Record Upon Which He Will Go Before the People. State Tribune. For some months t has been more or less conjecture arding the Political aspirations of Attorney General E.C. Crow. He has been «redited with a desire to become gov- vernor of Missouri, and many thought he would make the race against Mr Dockery Mr. Crow has never vouchsafed any information, however, regarding his ntentions, and has neverenlightened he press as to what office he desired antil Monday. In fact not until late Monday atternoon did he decide fully to make his intentions known as to the part he would play inthe coming gn for democratic preferment ‘amps After consultation with sonal and political friends some of his closest pi fieneral Crow has decided to enter the race for renomination to the of- fice of attorney-general. Asked about his candidacy by a State Tribune representative Gen Trowsaid: “You may announce in the Tribune my candidacy for renomination to the office of attorney-general Fur- ther than the mere announcement. of my intention to again make the ra { desire to s My record during my first term of office speaks for itself. The ousting of Thomas N. Vallins from the position of chief of police of Kansas City on the ground that he ‘was ineligible on account of non- citizenship, was a legal controversy in which the Kansas City police board was the defendant. The right of women to hold county offices has been determined during Judge Crow's term of office. In quo warranto proceedings brought in the supreme court against an incumbent who refused to vacate when defeated by a woman who had been put on the ticket to fill a vacancy caused by the death of her husband who was a candidate for the office, the court de- cided that qualifications as a voter were not necessary to hold office in Missouri, and that a woman could legally hold a county oftice. As the result of quo warranto pro- ceedings brought in the supreme court the bridge arbitrary of twenty- five cents charged by the M., K. & T, railrond tor every passenger that passed over its bridge; was perpetu- ally enjoined by the court. The ease was appealed, and is {now pending in the supreme court of the United States. The practice of the trust companies of St. Louis and Kansas of doing a regular banking business, although not organized as banks, was, as the result of proceedings instituted against them by the attorney-gen- ral, stopped by the court, and these ub een folks h lites by thes ave been subjected to gross in- worthless vag- dig during the past two weeks.—I - <i < = x = = ~ whe Used in Millions of Homes!
