Harrisonville Leader —While in Merwin, Bates county, last week we were informed that the contract for putting up the college building had been let and the work would begio this week. The building will be brick, three stories high Capt. Martin informed us that the house had already been leased to a syndi cate for 20 years We also visited the gas wellon Mr. Grider’s farm, three miles east of Merwin. Mr. Grider informed us that the flow bad apreceure of 28 pounds. What that signifies we are not gasologist enough to understend. The Merwin people talk of piping itto their town or going down for gas cf their own.
