Cholera and Was Not Afflicted. Columbia, Mo. Dee. 5.—Dr. Thos. Powell of this city, after working for twenty five years, clams that he has made a discovery which will rev olutionize the theory and practice of medicine. He says he has discovered a prep- aration which will immunize the body from all dread diseases, includ ing small pox, scarlet fever, cholera, censumption and, in fact, all ills krown to the race. Dr. Powell is a graduate of the New York Medical College, class of 1864, at that time ths leading insti- tution of the kind in the United States. ternational Public Health Associa- tion, corresponding secretary of the American Health Science}Association and member of the American Associ ation for the Advancement of Science. He has interested some Chicago scientists and capitalists in his un dertaking and they have advanced him money and will build him a san- itarium in Los Angeles, Cal, for the treatment of patients. He bas already spent a fortune in furthering his studies. The discovery is what he calls a constitutional remedy and is in both a hquid and solid form. He has worked on the theory that disease, which is fatal from the wasting of the vital forces, could be cured only by strengthening those forces. He says that he first discovered how strength is obtained, and how weak ness is produced. Perry, Ok., Dee. 4—One of the most notorious outlaws of this terri- j tory, “Dynamite Dick” Clifton, was killed this morning near Kildare, Kay county, twenty wiles north of |here, and Ben Craven, who bas escaped jail four times, was captur- ed, together with three other out- laws. A year ago Craven escaped jail in Kay Co., where he was incarcerated for theft of several hundred head of cattle in Osage Indian nation, and officers have been oa the lookout for him since, and last night a sheriff's posse surrounded a house weet of Kildare, where they learned that Craven was stopping. At daylight this morning the outlaws attempted to fight their way out of the house. The fight was hot, and officers escaped injury, but the outlaws did not fare so well. It happened that not only Craven was in the house, but Dick Clifton, alias “Dynamite Dick,” member of the old Dalton gang, and several lesser lights of outlawry. Dick Clif- ton, who has been considered one of the most desperate of Western des peradoes, led the figkt against the officers, and he soon fell, with his body full of bullets When Clifton fell the others weakeved and soon surrendered. Tonight Marshals Nagle and Colcord go to Kildare to take charge of the outlaws, for whom there is u reward of several thousand dollars. “‘Dynamite Dick,” with Bill Doolin, who has since been killed, escaped the Federal jail at Guthrie three monthe azo “Dynamite Dick” is charged with numerous train rob beries, most prominent of which is All druggists refund the money before, and weare putting forth|sized his body and has inoculated itfailsto cure. 25c. 51-6m. neh ON Dele eon LS every effort to reduce it by January | himself with germs of deadliest dis- the Rock Island at Dover, Ok, the mules Wednesday from Mrs Heynes| The sey sre retused Jailer told for $40, and the same night he was offered $40 for one of them.
