A Kune in Farmington, Mo., Nov. 24—A flutter of excitement was created iv the Farmington circuit court (Judge Wim. Carter presidiug) late yester- day afternoou just xt the close of the trial of a misdemeanor case, in which State Senator Burks and J. B. Burks appeared for the defendaut. The jury gave a verdict against their client and the Messrs. Burks claim- ed there had been no formal arraign- ment in the case. Prosecuting At- torney Abernathy maintained that the proceedings had been regular. Hot words ensued. Finally Senator Burks sprang to his feet, drew his knife and, with a great oath threat- ened to make carbonado of Mr Ab- ernathy. Other members of the bar interfered to prevent bloodshed, and Judge Carter imposed a fine of $5 against each of the Messrs. Burks Senator Burks swore he would neith er pay his fine nor go to jail, and the matter still remains unsettled. Dr Sawyer’s Pastilles used in time will cure any case of female weakness.
