Birmingham, Ala., July 19 —Thir- ty whitecaps went to the house of Jack Brownlee, a prominent negro in Coburn couuty, last night, shot his house full of holes, broke the doors down, took Brownlee to the woods, stripped him, whipped him almost to death and then ordered him to leave the country. Brownlee has not been seen since and it is feared he has been killed. He was a prominent democratic organizer of Oates clubs in Kolb’s | district.
