Sunday afternoon Henry Leeds aud Jim Vanber, neighbors living north of Springfield, got into an al tercation over a calf of Leed's which Vanber had impounded. Finally Leeds raised a stick of cordwood and struck Vanber over the bead. The latter staggered away and ina short time expired.
