Deloss Mornson a board- er at the house, who is living apart abducted one of jhis children and took her to the hotel. Heayy Damage Suit. 14.—Great being manifested Emporia, Kan., Sept. interest is here among cattlemen and farmers over a suit for $60,000 damages against the Missouri, Kansas and Texas road and Hozier B thers claims are based on losses of native cattle, caused by the shipment of Texas cattle into the State by Hozier Brothers over the Missouri, Kansas and Texas road, which inoculated the natives with Spanish fever and caused thousands to die. This is the celebrated Brogan ranch case, which caused so much excitement in this vicinity about a year ago. The cattle have been sold aud the proceeds are in the hands of T. J. Acheson, the receiver ap- pointed by the court. The cases will be heard at in November. Cottonwood Falls ared the Burglar. Emporia, Kas., Sept, 12.—Last night E. W. Hopkinsville, Ky., Sept.—A ters rible accident occurred this morning at 9 o’clock whereby Charles McKee a leading farmer, lost his life.
