Tives: The first thing that | attracted my attention on my , | north from Butler was the town of Passaic. This is a small place but it seems to be alive to its interests; anumber of good dwelling houses have been erected in the last few mouths and a neat church is being erected, it is being built on the Goth ic style aud when completed will be acredit to this place and the com munity. Passaic is quite a business place especially in live stock and lumber; it seems strange that farm ers will come from beyond Butler and Adrian to buy lumber at Passa ic; there must be a reason for this. I don't think it is Mr Wolte’s per sonal beauty, but they have been there as Mr Wolfe has sold nearly 50 car loads of lumber and four or five car loads of doors, sashes and blinds in the last six months; Mr} Eph Wolser has located here and will shelter and feed the traveling pubtic.
