London, April 12.—The latest ad- vices from India concerning the massacre at Manipur are that Com- missioner Quinton was decapitated | and his body horribly hacked, the limbs being afterward thrown out- side the city walls where they were | devoured by the dogs. Two officers whose names were not given and a bugler were spear- ed by the Kukis, and Mr. Grimwood the British political agent at Mani- pur, and two other officers were shot. The bodies of all the victims were brutally mutilated and afterwarward thrown over the walls of the city, as in the case of the unfortunate com- missioner. He killed his brother-in law, Henry Collins, ona farm, near Lowry City, ©t. Clair county, July 12. The trouble originated in their family affairs. The two men met, when Collins dared Perkins toshoot. Perkins carried a rifle, and while Collins sat on his horse when drink- ing in the creek, he fired the fatal shot. The murderer escaped and was captured a few weeks later in Pocohontas county, Ark., where he had stopped among relatives.
