The people of Bates county have | 4 ER WEEKLY TIMES been Se aees a number of times _ J. D. ALLEN Eprror. |to vote alevyto build a jail at But- age ler, but have voted the proposition down each time. Now, a good jail | building would be a great thing for | | Butler, would be an ornament to our | town, would enhance the value of property and would be the means} \of inducing people to locate among | jus. Therefore we would suggest | that our city board submit a propo -| sition to the citizens of Butler to be voted at an early date to build aj jail. We are satisfied that our peo- ple are ripe to vote a proposition of | this kind and it would give us the reputation abroad of being the livliest and most progressive town in the country. As the small additional tax, we are sure that our live progressive citizens will not let a small item of that kind stand in the way of enterprise and push. —<—<—<—_—_—_———_ D.
