Page, a Democrat scribe learned this morning of a severe accident caused by the dis- charge of a gun yesterday while lying in a wagon bed. There was a arty of men at work for Albert Al- en on his farm near Huntingdale, and while one of them tried to put a se in the wagon which was load- ed with bed clothes and other things he was unable to push it alone, and called one of the party to assist him. They then pushed the pole witha great deal of force, when it struck a double barreled shot-gun. An explosion immediately follow- ed, the contents entering the shoul- der and arm of one of them while the other one received some shot in his cheek bone. The wounds though severe, will not prove fatal. The shot passed through a feather bed, some bed clothes and a woolen cap before it took effect in the bodies of A] the men.—Clinton Democrat.
