K. & T. from the Gould system the Globe-Democrat says: The cablegram published below indicates that there is considerable truth in the report that the former stockholders $f the Missouri, Kan- sas & Texas are very weary of the manner in which that part of the Missouri Pacific is being conducted. All sorts of rumors have been float- ing around during the past few month, the substance of them being that the stockholders abroad were preparing to adopt some course hav- ing for its object the restoration of the road to its former management, or at least a separation from the Missouri Pacific That this will be the policy of the foreign stem. stockholders there can no longer re main a doubt. Should the stockholders succeed in recover- ing the property in the courts it will be owing very greatly to Mr. Gould’s inclination to release his grasp on a road that has been permitted to drift to decay and that will require many millions of dollars of steel wails and crossties to put it in prop- er condition again. Following is the cablegram: London, March 4.—This morn- ing’s Financial News announces that the Dutch committee for the protec tion of the shareholders of the Mis- souri, Kansas & Texas railway has constituted itself into a company. So soon as the necessary royal sanc- tion is obtained for the incorpora- tion, which, it is hoped, maybe with- in aweek, the company will ask all Dutch holders to deposit their shares with it, then, as one body, in eonjunction with the New York committee, the company will take steps to have the road managed in the interest of shareholders and not for the general advantage of the Gould combine. In moving thus the Dutch are not likely to be ac- cused of their proverbial fault of giving too little and asking too much. No. 7.-6m. The Funeral Month of March. An observant metropolitan ‘barber says that he can tell one’s physical condition by the state of the hair! The Bible tells us that with his hair gone Sampson lost his strength. The Romans considered baldness a serious affliction and Julius Cesar was never quite satistied with him- self because his poll was bare. The face, however, is the open book and one can readily trace in its various expressions, lines, changes and complexion the state of the sys- tem. J. W. Hensay, of Greensboro, Pa., on Jan. 15, 1888, reported “that he had derived more real benefit for the length of time, from Warner's Log Cabin Cough and Consumption rem- edy than he had for years from the best state physicians.” If you have a cuugh, night sweats, “positive assurance in your own mind that you, oh—you, have no consumption,” and yet lose flesh, appetite, courage, as your lungs waste away, you may know that soon the funeral month of March will claim you, unless promptly and faith- fully you use the article named.
