THREATS BY DESPERATE PEOPLE Threats are openly made of burn- ing railroad property all along the line in western Kansas, should this dreadful condition of affairs bemuch more perlonged. The mild and op- en weather of the past few days has been a God-send, but no onecan pro- phesy the dire consequences of a blizzard or a snow blockade. Seven dollars and a half is gladly paid for coal, but nonecan be procured even at that figure. + ROBBING THE ENGINES PROPOSED. The people are becoming desper- ate, and a great crowd was gathered at the railroad yards here to-day threatning to rob the engines which passed through ot their fuel. None of the fault can be assigned to the coal dealers, as they do everything in their power to relieve the suffering, but have hundreds of unfilled orders for which the ca:h has been paid up- on their books. ‘ .
