The name Bendix, prominently identied with precision equipment in the automotive and aeronautical in- dustries, made its appearance in the home appliance field recently when the machine was first introduced at South Bend, Indiana, although Service Electric Company will be the first to feature the apparatus in this territory. Service Electric Company was one of the first to become part of the na- ‘tional dealer organization of the Ben- dix Home Appliance Corporation of South Bend, manufacturers of the ma- chine. This sales organization was complete even before the first ma- chine came off the production line, many distributors and dealers taking representation of the machine on the. strength of previews given by demon- stration models. | Handling a nine pound wash at one time, the Bendix Home Laundry in aj matter of minutes automatically soaks and agitates the clothes, washes them, gives them three fresh water rins and after the last rinse spins the| clothes damp-dry. The machine ‘is| ‘then automatically shut off. The, ‘operator handles the clothes only| ‘twice; once, when they are placed in the machine dry, and again when| they are removed for the line.
