Strauss, 223 First, St. to John J. McPartlin, son of Mr. and Mrs, Stephan E. McPartlin, Chicago, Tl, which occurred Satur- day at high’ noon, was the wedding reception in the Rose room of the Patterson hotel Saturday from 2 to 4p. m,, Bnd the tea dance which followed in the Silver ballroom of the hotel. Receiving the guests in the Rose room were Mrs, Frederick B, Strauss, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen E. McPartlin, Mr. and Mrs, John J. McPartlin, Miss Anna Marie Fink, Cable, Wis., who served as maid of honr; the Elizabeth Sudmeier, St. Paul, Minn. Alice Olson, New Uum, Minn,, and Mary Louise McPartlin, Evanston, Il, and Mrs. F. B. Strauss, jr.. Min- neapolis, Minn., who served as brides- maids; and Dickie MocPartlin, Chi- cago, Ill., brother of the bridegroom, who served as altar boy at his bro- ther'’s wedding. Approximately 450 guests gathered at the Patterson hotel during afternoon to extend felications to the bridal couple, their relatives and attendants, Guests came from all over North Dakota, Minneapolis, St. Paul and Chicago for the occasion. Assisting with the guests were Mmes, J. K. Blunt and G. L. Phipps. Dr. F. B, Strauss, father of the bride, while not in the receiving line, assisted in greeting the guests on their arrival and did much to make everyone feel at home. Furnishing the music for the tea dance were members of the KFYR orches- tra. Guests were entertained with dancing, following which an elaborate buffet supper was served from & three-tiered table across one end of the ballroom. As mementoes of the occasion the guests were presented with pieces of the wedding cake in small white boxes, tied with white satin bridal ribbon. Immediately following the wed- Patterson hotel. Tables for the guests ranged with a round central table for the bridal party with long tables ex- tending on either side of it for the relatives and close friends who were ' among the guests. Centering the bride's table was a large four-tiered wedding cake top- ped with a diminuitive bride and bridegroom. At the end of either of the long tables was a silver basket filled with chrysanthemums.
