THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1937 SOCIETY and CLUBS Mrs. Bauer Beginning 8rd Year as Teacher Mrs. Ethel Moore Bauer announces | that she is now opening her fall classes in piano at her home studio 715 Sixth St. This year marks Mrs. Bauer's third year as an instructor in piano in Bismarck. Mrs, Bauer, who began her raises | training in Minneapolis, Minn., as a) child, took advanced work at Mac- Phail Schoo! of Music, from which | she graduated. While there she stu- died piano and especially methods for children. Mrs. Bauer attended the Teachers normal training classes | conducted under the personal direc- tion of Carolyn Bowen at MacPhail, who has trained a number of artists and who is an established authority | }on the training of children. Mrs. |Bauer follows Miss Bowen's methods jin regard to pedalling technic, weight, touch and relaxation. She will be glad to interview any | prospective pupils at her home. A. Koehler, 407 First St. They were Mmes. Ralph Forsythe, John McQueen, V. O. Ma- son and G, A. Bardsley. Thirteen members and one guest, Mrs. E. A. Rasche, St. Paul, Minn, Mrs. Kohler’s aunt and house guest, were present at the meeting. Bunco was played during the evening with awards being made to Mmes. Lester Werre and Rasche. The rooms were appointed with autumn flowers. A picnic is planned for members of the club and their families for Sunday, Sept. 12, at Kiwanis park. On the program committee are Mmes. Kohler and Charles Toliyer. The re- freshment committee includes Mms. Fred and Lester Werre. * * * Delta Gamma Alumnae Association Meets Members of the Bismarck-Mandan Alumnae association of the Delta Gamma sorority met Wednesday eve- ning at the roundtable in the Patter- son hotel dining room for a 7 o'clock formal dinner. Covers were placed for 10. Following dinner the group went to the Tracy apartment in the Patter- son hotel to spend the evening. Rushing plans were discussed and other plans for the year’s organiza- tion were formulated. The next meeting will be Oct. 4. Miss Cornelia Tracy was a guest at the meeting. During the summer months he has been em- Ployed by the United States forestry service, located at Quartz Ranger station, near Missoula, Mont., in Lola national forest.
