PREDICT INGREASE IN COLLECTION OF DBLINQUENT TAXES Current Levy Payments Are Lower In August This Year Than Last Year Prediction that almost certain in- creases in delinquent tax collections in September and October would more than offset a shrinkage in 1936 levy collections during August was made Thursday by W. G. Worner, secre- tary of the Bismarck and Burleigh county tax payment committee. Figures compiled by Worner Thurs- day from records in the county treas- urer's office showed am increase of approximately 40 per cent in delin- quent tax collections during August over the amount of collections of de- linquent taxes during the same month last year but also revealed a drop of almost one-half in current, levy col- lections. Collections of delinquent taxes dur- ing August this year totaled $7,737.43. Last year the figure was $5,417.00. Current levy collections in August this year amounted to $6,415.77 as compared to $12,127.13 last year. Special effort will be made during the next few months to bring current levy collections “up to where they lay, due in _ wy shrinkage Four reasons for the anticipated in- crease were given: High on the roof of Japanese juarters in - Just landed take @ breather before descending to the fierce hand-to- hand fighting ip the streets of the city. on Oct, 15; personal prop- es for 1936 will be turned over for collection on Sept. | in Leningrad province and two others’ were sentenced to ten years in prison.
