LUNDE * * * * * Lunde Super City’s Newest Business Bismarck’s newest business estab- lishment will be opened for inspection ef the public Friday evening when the Lunde Super Service and Sales company throws wide the doors of ats new establishment at Seventh and Thayer Ave. The establishment combines a new @nd modern gasoline filling and serv- ice station with the business of dis- tributing home appliances and radios. The structure in which the business is housed is 25 by 50 feet in dimen- sion, of tile and stucco construction. Tt was designed by Bruce Wallace, Minneapolis architect, formerly ‘of Bismarck, and one of its distinguish- ing features is the use of glass brick tor trim around the ladies’ rest room and the big display window. Handles Phillips Products The firm will handle Phillips 66 gasoline, oil and batteries, having been a leader in the distribution of Phillips products in this area since 1932. It also will sell Lee tires and Gravo lubrication for automobiles as well as accessories, thus offering com- Plete service to the motorist. Something new in the way of motor- ing service is the internal motor Cleaning machine. which cleans the sludge, grit and dirt from the crank case pan without removing it from the automobile. There are only four other such machines in the state, Frits Lunde said Thursday. "One of the features of the station are the rest rooms for both men and ‘women which are a departure from the standard in their design and equipment. Whenever the light is Snapped on in one of these rest rooms it also starts an electrical ventilating system. The business will be moved from that location to the new building and made a part of the new enterprise. In addition to the other enterprises mentioned the firm will continue the sale of Zenith radios, featuring the new arm-chair models. The new establishment is the third station to come under the operation ot the Lunde brothers, a second hav- ing been added within a few years of the opening of the original station. Fifteen attendance prizes will be awarded in connection with the open- ing and, in addition, everyone who visits the new establishment will re- ceive a treat. The new business place will be open for service at 6:30 a. m., Saturday. Proprietors of one of Bismarck’s fastest-growing business are Frits 8. Lunde and Alert J. Lunde, who will Open a new place of business for in- Spection by the public Friday night. They are the sons of Rev. J. H. Lunde, 911 Fifth St. Frits 8. Lunde came to Bismarck in 1932 from Huxley, Ia., and opened @ gasoline bulk station and one fill- ing station. Alert J. Lunde came to Bismarck in 1933 from Huntington, W. Va., where he had been head of the sci- ence department in the high school. He abandoned school work for busi- hess after 13 years in the teaching Profession. Both attended Luther College at Decorah, Ia., and both are married, Frits living at 422 Seventh St., and Alert at 303 W. Broadway.
