\ STOK PRICES PICK UP STRENGTH WITH WHOLE LIST um Considerable Short Covering Is Noted; Think Market Was Over-Sold New York, Apr. 27.—(?)—Stocks re- gained balance in Tuesday’s market and numerous issues retrieved frac- tions to around 3 points of severe lgsses suffered in the previous session. Brokers attributed the comeback mainly to the belief the list had been oversold . Considerable short covering was noted in most boardrooms and buying for a quick-turn aided the recovery. ‘The pace was sufficiently speedy at the opening to put the ticker tape behind for a time. Activity, however, slowed later and extreme gains were cut down in many instances before the close. ‘Steels pointed the way to the re- covery route in the early implements and specialties. Transfers were in the neighbor- hood of 1,400,000 shares. | Livestock 80. ST.
