Advantage in Film A slight grayziess around the gills, manifested on the face of the usually dauntless screen villain, Sidney Black- mer, brought glee to studio technicians making “‘A Doctor's Diary,” the film scheduled to open today at the Para- mount Theatre. It meant triumph. Technicians, in the course of the film’s production, were called on to reproduce a modern operating room, in every detail. Blackmer was to stage a major “operation” in the room, and had. donned the tradi- tional gown and white cap when he entered the scene. Something clicked in his subconscl- ous mind, however, and he suddenly remembered a major operation he had undergone just a few weekA\be- fore in New York. There wasn’t any ether on the set—but he felt a wave of ether sickness!
