HANDICRAFT SHOW PLANNED FOR GITY BY VETERAN GROUP Foreign War Men to Sponsor Exhibit for Boys Between 10 and 18 Years Old Decision to conduct in Bismarcle/ this spring a Handicraft Exposition for boys from 10 to 18 years old was announced Friday by Wesley L. Sher- win, commander of the Bismarck- Mandan post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Boys between the ages of 10 and 18 years may enter exhibits in two divisions and anything made by them will be eligible. Sherwin said the Junior Assocla- tion of Commerce has asked permis- sio to sponsor the model airplane division and other organizations inter- ested in co-operating by sponsoring some particular feature of the ex- hibit will be welcome to do so, Ap- plication for such permission should be made to the general committee, composed of Sherwin, John G. Karasiewicz and W. J. Brophy. Karasiewicz will head the program and rules committee. Other members will be O. A. Kobs of the Junior As- Sociation of Commerce; Robert Kirk- ‘wood, scout commissioner; Paul Net- land, scout executive, and Harrison Monk. Meeting of this broup will be held Monday to determine the rules and conditions for the exhibit. Brophy will head the speakers John P. Devaney’s appearance before the senate judiciary committee in Wasn- ington in behalf of the court reor- ganization plan, and his recent elec- tion as president of the National Lawyers’ guild, have been his first steps into the national limelight. D., Mar. 10.—()}—Mrs. Marrissa L. Pitts, 77, widow of & pioneer sheriff and homesteader of McHenry county, died Wednesday at the home of a son, Charles Pitts, Minot, of lobar pneumonia and heart complications. She moved to McHenry county from Wisconsin with her husband, William R. Pitts, in 1882, settling near the Mouse river. They later moved to Ramsey county, where they home- steaded a quarter section of land, which they improved and farmed. Returing to Towner, they engaged in farming and stock raising.
