Farmers Union Plant at Williston Burned Williston, N. D., Dec. 15.—(7)—Fire completely destroyed the new feed mill at the Farmers Union poultry Pient here early Tuesday as firemen unsuccessfully fought the blaze. The loss was estimated at $13,000. The entire city fire department was called but flames had gained such headway they were beyond control. Absence of wind prevented spread of flames to the nearby hatching plant, fire- men said. The loss was partially covered by insurance. OS LENE: There's Still Time for CHRISTMAS known as the Presbyterian Church of America was set up. broached the dfferences between the fundamentalists and modernists, Rey, Allen said. was a “doctrinal deliverence” by the general assembly of the church in 1923 which, he said, asserts that the Bible is the word of God and that its writ- ers were inspired and kept from error; reaffirmed the doctrine of the Virgin birth of Christ; expressed the religious tenet that Christ died on tne cross to satisfy Divine justice and reconcile sinners to God; and reiter- ated the theory of the bodily resur- rection of Christ and belief in his working of mircles, Subsequently, Rev. Allen asserted, @ group of liberals within the church met at Auburn, N, Y.. and adopted what is known as the Auburn Affima- tion which set forth the liberal view. Since then, he contends, the lib- ral ut has gradually been win- ring the ‘ascendancy in church af- fairs, completing their domination at was a group of men who had launch-| 'ed @ scparate missionary enterprise on the ground that the regular) church organization was not preach- ing the Presbyterian faith as origin- ally established. They had been tried by several ecclesiastical courts and suspended and the fundamental- ists were shunted into outer dark- ness when the suspension was up- held. The defene, Rev. Allen said, was that the regular organization ‘was trying to make the church, rather than Christ, the Lord of conscience, ‘but this availed them nothing. Set Up Separate Church Following this decision the Pres- byterian Church of America was set | 4 up and the question now is whether Gissident ministers can continue their work in stcuctures which for- merly were atiiliated with the Pres- byterlan Church in America. Adherents of the Presbyterian Church in America claim that tne! building at Carson was constructed for the use of that denomination and cannot rightfully be use! by an- other church organization. The de- fendants conterd that the faith, as they are teaching and practicing it, is the same as that professed by all Presbyerians at the time the church was built.
