Firms Donate Large Number of Prizes for Annual Char- ity Event With nearly 60 tables reserved by ‘Wednesday morning and with a large number of interesting prizes already donated by Bismarck merchants, the annual Christmas seal bridge tes which is to be a Friday event prom- ises to be an outstanding success. ‘The party will be held as usual in the Patterson hotel Terrace Gardens with the card games starting at 2:30 p. m, Mrs. M. B. Gilman, chairman of the charity function, said that her com- mittee has met splendid cooperation from the merchants in the matter of prizes and that an award is assured for the player holding high score at each table. ‘ Reservations for tables still may be made with Mrs. Gilman or with mem- bers of her committee. The list of those calling for tables within the next few days will be announced later, as will the names of firms donating the prizes, Those who have taken tables thus far include Mmes. . Miss Ruth Rand was initiated into Sigma Alpha Iota, honorary music sorority at the University of North Dakota. She is a sophomore in the school of education. The Misses Vivian Coghlan, Jean Lierboe and Mary Louise Nuessle and Jack Humphreys are included in the cast of the Christmas play, “Bethle- hem,” to be presented by the Univer- sity Madrigal club at a Grand Forks church Friday and at a University convocation Monday. The Madrigal club, a mixed choral group of 67 sing- ers, tours the northwest each year. In the past they have appeared before Chicago, Minneapolis and Winnipeg audiences. 5 The Misses Jeanne Paris and Bev- college students who helped with ar- rangements for a Kiddies’ Christmas party at which members of the Young Men's and Young Women’s Christian associations entertained 100 poor chil- dren of Fargo, Dec, 4. Funden of Mandan are among American Legion Auxiliary officials expected to attend the annual mid- winter executive board meeting of the organization Friday at Valley City. The call to the meeting was issued Wednesday by Mrs. J. D. Stenson of Minot, department president. Miss Houser is department treas- urer and Mrs, Rosenthal and Mrs. Funden are among the 10 district committeewomen. The finance board meets Thursday at Valley City, at which time the budget for the year will be prepared and matters of finance discussed. The acceptance of the budget, questions of policy and routine of business will considered by the executive board. Members of the board in addition to those already mentioned are Mrs. E. C.
