We heartily invite you to attend AT THE ‘Anthony’ Last Word In Film Production “Anthony Adverse” is the last word in magnificent screen entertainment. ‘This truly anxiously awaited War- ner Bros. production, which had its loca] premiere at the Capitol Theatre yesterday, held audiences in a spell of breathless suspense as reel after reel unfolded the vivid story of Hervey Allen’s monumental literary classic. The picture follows the romantic @dventures of Anthony Adverse through five countries, across the seas and over three continents. For mam- moth sets, for colorful and pictur- esque background, for dynamic action, for the unusual characterizations of its tremendous cast from Fredric March, the star, down to the smallest bit player, for the glamor of its ro- mance, its human interest and sheer, unadulterated entertainment this pic- ture is unsurpassed, But all this, while full of color, is but the background for a drama of human life, its loves and hates, its hopes and its disappointments; its desires and its passions; its vain and futile struttings and its vast achieve- ments. Fredric March has given the screen #ome wonderful portrayals in the Rast, but never has he risen to the heights of dramatic fire as in the title role of this picture. His Anthony is @ living, breathing person, stepping out of & book into real life on the Your offertory: “Meditation” — : “Tarry With Me O My Baldwin. copal) CHUROH ‘Thayer Rector follows: 8:00 a. Headed by the irrepressible Jack Benny, the cast includes George Burns and Gracie Allen, whose char- acteristic nit-wit comedy runs through the entire show; Bob Burns, inventor and chief virtuoso of the “bazooka” and its music; Martha Raye, who ap- peared in pictures for the first time in “Rhythm on the Range” a short while ago and scored an instant suc- cess; Benny Goodman and his Or- chestra, leading dispensers of “swing” music! Shirley Ross, a new and im- portant screen find; Ray Milland, Frank Forest, Benny Fields, Leopold Stokowski and his Symphony Orches- tra; Louis DaPron, Eleanore Whitney, Larry Adler and many others. The music and dancing in “The Big Broadcast of 1937” are particularly worthy of note. The “La Bomba” number has all the ingredients of a great popular hit and will probably |be sung and whistled throughout the country in a couple of weeks. The duel between “swing” and “sweet,” fought by Benny Goodman and his Orchestra, and Leopold Stokowski and his, is excellent music of both types played to fine comedy. Alto- gether “The Big Broadcast of 1937” rates as an excellent and lavish film which should be on everybody's “must” list, Bacteriological and chemical action influenced by water is likely to cause ignition of hay, cattle feeds, fertili- vers and other farm materials when farm SURE, LET'S Yyou' (THIS.1S A DASTAROLY X BuT-BUT OUreA ui LOCK "EM UP} | WOU CANT 20 00 YOU Hi | GE.
