McKiernan of Pomeroy, Wash., have formally an- nounced. the engagement of their daughter, Miss Irene Vivian McKier- nan, to Brennan Briggs Davis, son of Mrs. Florence H. Davis, 518 Sixth St. The wedding will occur Monday, Oct. 19, in the Catholic church of Pomeroy. ‘The prospective bridegroom’s mother is well-known in Bismarck and in the state, She is librarian of the North Dakota Historical Society's brary and is prominently identified with the nore Dakota Federation of Women's clubs, Mrs. Davis and her son, who came here Tuesday, left for the west Fri- day. Mrs. Davis goes directly to Pom- eroy and Mr, Davis will join William ‘Wetherall, his former college room- mate who is to be his attendant at the wedding, at the University of Idaho at Moscow. Mr. Wetherall is.a senior in law at the university, from which Mr. Davis was graduated in. 1935. Following the wedding, the. young couple will come to Bismarck, arriving about next Wednesday, and will spend a few days driving through this part of the state.-Mr, Davis’ mother will remain at Pomeroy as a guest in the McKiernan home for a short time and will arrive home the end of next week. Mr. Davis prepared for the University of Idaho, where he received a diploma in forestry, at. Bismarck high school. Both he and his fiancee were grad- uated from the University of Idaho ir the same year, the latter having majored in education, | .
