Taylor of this city, who were North Dakota’s representatives at the annual con- vention of the National Tuberculosis association at New Orleans, La., April 20-25, have returned home. Miss Katen is executive secretary, Dr. Quain is treasurer and Mrs. Tey. lor is corresponding secretary of the North Dakota Anti-Tuberculosis as- sociation. Dr. Quain also is a mem- ber of the board of directors of the national organization. After attending the meeting, the 43 | local people attended to business mat- ters in Washington, D. C., and then in Chicago, making the remainder of the trip by way of Minneapolis. Miss Katen pointed out that work in the tuberculosis field is making a strong wing of progress toward con- centrating on tuberulin testing and follow up work in age groups and fields where it is known that the greatest number of cases exist, rath- er than the wholesale method of test- ing employed a few years ago. Research workers at the meeting reported that testing for tuberculosis is most imperative in grades 7, 9 and 11 and among college students. More and more attention is being given to preliminary tests and x-ray examina- tion among college students because been breaking down due to tuberculosis in this particular age group. Pioneer Lidgerwood Cattleman Is Dead St. Paul, May 12.—(4)—James Mc- Hugh, 75, former North Dakota farm- er and cattleman, died here Tuesday after two years’ illness, at the home of his daughter, Miss Cecilia McHugh. Born April 18, 1861, in Red Wing, Mc- Hugh, moved to Lidgerwood, N. D., in 1898, and lived there until several months ago. Funeral services will be conducted here Thursday with burial in Good- hue, Minn., where he lived before go- ing to North Dakota. Survivors in- clude his widow, four daughters, cluding Mrs. M. H. Lynch, of Lidge wood; four brothers and a sister, in- cluding Daniel of Dunseith, N.
