This is pointed out by W. E. Brentzel, plant disease specialist of the NDAC experimental station, who recently completed a series af tests to determine the value of treatment for seed corn. Treated seed when compared with untreated seed in greenhouse tests came through the soil better in almost every instance. Likewise the plants from the treated seed were stronger and almost all of them were free from disease. The more than ordinary prevalence | of disease on the seed samples used in the tests indicate the special need _ for treating this year.
