Brostuen of Alex- ander, president of that group, said" Thursday. At the present each county pays for the care of its patients at the Grafton state school and the James- town state hospital for insane, Bros- tuen pointed out. He stated the com- mission believes there is “merit” in the proposal to change the present method of financial support to state appropriations. Senator Brostuen said the commis- sion also has under consideration ways and means whereby state high- ways can be “adequately financed” to match approximately $2,000,000 “like- ly” to be available each year from} federal aid. “It has envisioned the possibility that the state may be faced with the necessity of reducing its state high- way mileage because of the costly maintenance standards demanded by the bureau of public roads,” Bros: tuen stated. “In this connection leg- islation now pending before congress would have a bearing on the final; recommendations of the survey com- mission.” Egg Buyers Advised To Get New Permits New licenses for egg buyers of the state must be obtained immediately, C. 8. Ladd, state food commissioner and chemist, warned Thursday. Old licenses expired March 31. “All wholesale buyers of eggs are required to buy on grades,” Ladd said. “Consumers should insist that retail- ers also sell only on grades.” mm eges that are clean and sound of shell, with the air cell local- ized, regular and not more than two- eighths inch in depth may be classed as Grade A eggs,” Ladd explained. “This grade of eggs also may have a slightly visible yolk, slightly mobile, but with no visible germ development. The white should be firm and clear and each egg weigh not less than at the rate of 23 ounces per dozen, and must average not less than 24 ounces per dozen or 45 pounds net per case.” JACK GIBBONS SIGNS St. Paul, April 2.—(?)—Jack Gib- bons, St. Paul light-heavyweight, signed Thursday to meet Fred Len- hart, Seattle, in a ten-round bout here April 17.
