AT THE MOVIES Paramount to Show Timely War Picture} — | Paramount made a lucky strike! when it decided to adapt F. Britten! Austen’s story, “The Last Outpost,”! to the screen. For it is the first pro-| ducer to hit the picture market since| the outbreak of hostilities in Africa! with a war film. “The Last Outpost” depicts the fighting that occurred during the World War between England and the ‘nomadic tribes of Kurdistan, when ‘Turkey was trying to break through Asia Minor to strike England a blow through India. And it also shows the holding of British outposts in the| Soudan against the savage natives. This film comes to the screen Fri-) day and Saturday. The scene opens with the capture of Captain Michael Andrews of a British transport patrol by a maraud- ing Kurd tribe officered by Turks. His escape from his brutal captors is effected’ by one of the officers who discloses himself as an Englishman working for the British Intelligence Division.
