Here is an exciting drama telling the story of a millionaire mother-in- law's fight to wrest the custody of a child from his divorced father. The story is an original by Lenore Coffee, deftly directed by Edward Ludwig. Miss Robson rises to dramatic heights as the battling mother-in- Jaw, and her address in court to the judge is one of the outstanding dra- matic moments in the picture, Lukas plays the sympathetic role: of the father, backed by his faithful secre- tary, enacted by Madge Evans. Little David Jack Holt is a real dis- covery among child actors, and in in- absolutely “heavy,” plays Sve, the philandering wife, ably abetted by Ralph Forbes ‘The Arizonian’ Vivid Chapter of Old West A sivid chapter from the history of the American West is incorporated in “The Arizonian,” starring Richard Dix, which shows at the Capitol Theatre Thursday, Friday and Satur- lay. During the latter part of the nine- teenth century, the Western frontier was overrun with gunmen, outlaws and criminals of every description. To meet this emergency, there arose the quick-thinking, fast-shooting peace officer. It is such a role that Richard Dix portrays in “The Arizonian.” He is seen as the honest officer prepared t6 defend with his life, the citizens of Silver City. Dix is said to have the ‘best part since he appeared in “Cimarron.” His chief enemies are the unscrup- ulous sheriff of the town and his renegrade henchmen, When the marshal institutes a reform, the Sheriff combats it. Prisoners of the | marshal are released with minor fines | by the town judge, who is in league with the sheriff. Faced with such a situation, Dix follows @ drastic course.
