Mr. Roe had as his attendants James Dryden, Drayton, and Wallace Miller, Devils Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Roe went to Shore- ham, Minn, for their wedding trip and after Monday will be at home at Devils Lake. Mr. Roe is a graduate of the high school at Devils Lake, where the Roe family formerly lived, and of a Mil- waukee, Wis., school of electrical engi- neering. The bride was graduated from the Drake high school and also attended a business college. Mr. Roe is employed as field service man for the Devils Lake branch of Mont- gomery Ward é& company. xe k « Kamplins Here for Three-Day Sojourn R. J. Kamplin, Chicago, a former Bismarck resident, together with Mrs. Kamplin and their two children, Ramona and Reinhart, Jr., arrived in Bismarck Sunday evening and are stopping at the Patterson hotel. They will be here until Wednesday when they will leave for Penn, N. D., to visit Mr. Kamplin’s sister. Kamplin now is in the law depart- ment of the Standard Oil company at Chicago. While in North Dakota he was an assistant attorney general. He ‘ is a past commander of the Bismarck post of the American Legion and was the first Bismarck man ever to serve as state commander of the veterans’ organization. * * * Mandan Couple Weds { At Local. Rooth, both of Mandan, exchanged their nuptial vows during a service read at the First Lutheran church of this city at 11 o'clock Friday morning with Rev. G. Gallagher, Man- dan, Saturday made formal an- nouncement of the marriage of their daughter, Miss Kathryn Gallagher, to Joseph Eckroth, son of Mr. Mrs. Gabe Echroth, also of Mandan. ‘The marriage service was read Sat- urday morning, August 10, in the Moorhead, Minn., Catholic church with Miss Phyllis Carroll, Mandan, and Paul Gussner, Bismarck, attend- ing the couple. The bride was gowned in light blue chiffon with white accessories and carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and lilies-of-the valley. Miss Car- roll wore a pink crepe ensemble with brown accessories and held pink roses. Both Mr. and Mrs. Eckroth were graduated from the Mandan high school. Mr. Eckroth, who starred in football during his high school career, has been attending the University of North Dakota where he was affiliat- ed with Sigma Alpha Epsilon frater- nity, and during the summer months has been employed at the U. 8S. field station at Mandan. This fall he will enroll at St. John’s university, Col- legeville, Minn., to complete his col- lege studies. Mrs. Eckroth has a stenographic Position with the state hail insurance ‘| department. see Miss Clara Anderson Becomes Bride Here During a quiet service read at the Trinity Lutheran parsonage, 704 Seventh St. at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Miss Clara Annette An- derson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Anderson, Sterling, became the bride of Howard Edward Olson, son of William Olson, Driscoll. The bride, wearing a tea rose crepe model, was attended by Miss Char- lotte Olson, who wore violet velvet. Raymond Johnson was best man for Mr. Olson, Mrs. Olson is a graduate of the Sterling high school. The couple is living near Driscoll, where the bride- groom is engaged a farming. * * Miss Wanda Stroup, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. John Stroup, Mandan, was honored at a bridge breakfast for 16 guests given Friday morning by the Misses Mary Jane Woodman- see and Alice Tillotson at the home of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.
