THE BISMARCK TRIBUNE, MONDAY, APRIL 29, 1985 Tribune’s Grain, Livestock and CL A S S IFIE DA D S i Good and choice 500 to 780| Household Goods for Sale Market Report for Mon., April 29 Be HARKET BOLSTERED BY LATE RALLY IN METALS, UTILITIES Close Is Fairly Firm Despite Evi- dence of Soft Spots Throughout List New York, April 29—(7}—A late) Yally in the metals, some of the utili- ties and specialties gave the stock market a much-needed lift Monday. While a number of soft spots were in evidence throughout the list, the closing tone was fairly firm. Trans- ters approximated 930,000 shares. — Mining issues apparently ignored'a further reduction in silver prices both in New York and other world cen- ters. The metal, imported for com- mercial use, was lowered 1 cent an f ounce to 75% cents in New York. The * rails again were restrained by the failure of the supreme court to hand ‘down the long-waited pension law de- cision. Current steel operations were estimated at 43.1 per cent of capacity, the lowest level since early January. ‘This compared with 44.6 per cent last ‘week. The major grains came back at Chi- cago after early hesitancy. Cotton Jagged. Foreign exchanges were quict. ‘Bonds were mixed. Equities were listless and indecisive during the greater part of the day. Cerro de Pasco led the silver equities with an advance of about 5 points.
