8 THE BISMARCK TRIBUNE, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3, 1935 ] SIDEGLANCES - - By George Clark | DI95 BY NEA SERVICE, INC. T.M. REG. U. S. PAT. OFF, — “How is this—a pretty good corner?” OF THe EYE 1$ THE ONLY TISSUE OF wirHeur HUMAN BODY AT THE ‘Student Tour’ Has Rollicking Romance Sparkling with mirth and bubbling with melody, “Student Tour” opens today at the Paramount Theatre to the accompaniment of delighted creams from a capacity audience. Jimmy Durante and Charles But- terworth have the comedy leads in this “different” musical picture, and the romantic story is in the capable hands of two brilliant newcomers, ‘Maxine Doyle and Phil Regan. The picture fairly scintillates with the spirit of youth. Metro-Goldwyn- Mayer seems to have reached out into the by-ways of Hollywood for its most promising young talent, and there are at least half a dozen ravishing beau- ties in the cast who should go far in their screen work. New musical numbers by Brown and Freed are scattered through the engaging story. One of these, the “Carlo,” a new dance rhythm, bids fair to revolutionize ballroom dancing and is said to be the most important evolution in popular music in twenty years, Other song hits include “From Now On” and “A New Moon Is Over ‘My Shoulder,” both best-sellers. “Student Tour” deals with the ad- ventures— mostly hilarious and ro- mantic—of a group of college boys and girls whoembark on a world cruise champeroned by Butterworth, an ab- sent-minded professor, and Durante, an athletic trainer. | ‘Tuis Curious Wo, By William Ferguson THE MOVES | Woman’s Problem Is Subject of Picture | Didi Alice Vaile do wrong? Was it | *rong for her to enter the life of the man she always loved when she knew that he was misunderstood by his wife’ and children? Was she unjust to herself when she opened their eyes to his virtues? Or should she have won him for herself? With Binnie Barnes, glamorous English beauty as Alice Vaile this ‘new twist to the Eternal Triangle “There's Always Tomorrow,” the Uni- versal picture which comes to the Capitol Theatre on Thursday and Friday. Frank Morgan and Lois Wil- son are the husband and wife whose life she enters with such astonishing results. The picture is from Ursula Parrott’s story of domestic stress which might happen in any Amer- ican home. It was directed by Ed- ward Sloman, and boasts a strong cast supporting the principals, “Songs of the Colleges,” an added featurette, is a beautiful, speedy and tuneful subject woven around a dozen or more of the nation’s foremost schools. Sport flashes from the grid- iron, track and rowing course, and campus are seen while the Trojan band of the University of Southern California, led by Hal Roberts, plays the various college airs, with voices by quartettes and ensembles.
