Altenburg, acting county agent, and the community representatives will meet with the county allotment committee March 20 and 21 for cer- tification of the forms, signed and appraised. One of the important changes in the 1935 contracts, compared to the 1934 contract, is the new method of | « figuring the average corn yields for the farm, the basis for determining benefit payments. Altenburg pointed out that yield on which benefit payments will be determined is the estimated corn yield for all crop land in the farm which has been in corn at least once during the last five years. Last year the basis for payment was the average yield estimated for the particular acres set aside as “con- tracted acres,” or kept out of corn production under contract with the secretary of agriculture. A change was made this year because a definite tract of land shifted from corn will not be set aside and limited to cer- tain uses. In making an appraisal for a parti- cular farm this year, the community committeemen will ascertain the area that has in corn at least once the | in a Ege 3 ‘ i 2 D.
