oT . Monday Club Designates . Group to Shape Program Mrs. G. F. Dullam, Mrs. M. W. Roan and Mrs. Neil 0. Churchill Chosen Mrs. G. F. Dullam, Mrs. M. W. Roan and Mrs. Neil O. Churchill were ap- pointed as the 1935-36 program com- mittee of the Monday club when the group was entertained Monday after- noon by Mrs. Fred Jansonius, 816 Fourth St. Although several subjects have been considered for study, no definite decision has been made. The study material Monday was based on the general subject, “The Conflict Between the States and Its Meaning to America,” attempting to give not an analysis of the Civil War but a presentation of the permanent. Kdeals which grew out of it as ex- pressed in the literature of the North and South, Three members gave the explana- tory material taken from suggested references. Mrs. 8. W. Corwin dis- cussed the anti-slavery movement and the northern spirit in the war, Mrs. Myron H. Atkinson described the southern spirit in the conflict and Mrs, N. E. Elsworth told of the main events in Lincoln's life and quoted many of his public utterances made during the war. Mrs. Elsworth is a new member of the club, filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mrs. Harold D. Belk’s review of “On Our Way” by President Frank- lin D. Roosevelt was the main pro- gram feature when the Bismarck Study club met Monday afternoon with Mrs. J. A. Fleck, 514 Rosser ave- nue, west. Mrs. F. C. Stucke reported on part five of “Empire in the East,” which the group is studying this year. The current events period was taken by Mrs. John R. Fleck.
