TATE SCHOOL GETS BANK OF N. D. LOAN Crisis Averted at Grafton Insti- tution by Purchase of Coun- ty Tax Warrants [J rr Faced with the problem of insuf- ficient funds for operation, Grafton Btate school Monday obtained the aid of the Bank of North Dakota which purchased $20,000 in county tax war-; rants to swell coffers of the institu- tion with cash. Through action of Nelson Sauvain, « chairman of. the board of adminis- tration, the tax anticipation warrants held by the state treasurer for the school in the county aid fund, were turned over for cash, solving an acute maintenance problem at the institu- tion, Sauvain said. A _week ago, examination of the funds showed only $4,000 balance in the state appropriaion fund for ahe school, and a $4,000 balance in the county aid fund—a total less than enough to pay a months bills at the institution, Average cost of maintenance per month at the in- Btitution is $13,000.
