Mary's high school cage team scored its third successive triumph by defeating the Linton Lions, 18 to 10, in a ragged basketball exhibition here Friday night. Linton took a two point lead, after missing innumerable short shots in the first quarter, when Teoph Bal- liet connected with the hoop from the side, The Saints evened the count with a basket by Bob Murphy just before the quarter ended. Field goals by Tommy Lee and Ur- ban Hagen and two gift shots by Fred Schultz gave the Saints an eight to four advantage at the half-time, a lead which they never relinquished. Harold Dobler connected for the Lions’ second field goal in the first half. Bob Murphy, Schultz, Lee and Hag- en all contributed to the 10 points the Saints chalked up in the last half. Bennie Meier, Linton center, came into his own in this period connect- ing for two field goals and a free throw which, sdded to a gift shot by Dobler, was all of the scoring allow- ed the Lions ‘Miss Innumerable Setups Both teams experienced difficulty fn connecting with their short shots, the Linton cagers especially missed setups time after time.
