Given in the American Legion Aux- illary, room, World War Memorial building, the program was the first guest affair at which the club used its new grand piano. Also marking the occasion was Adolph Engel- hardt’s performance on the harp in an instrumental trio selection. Mr. Engelhardt, en associate member of the club, already: has won distinction in local music circles as a violinist and has been studying harp for some time although this was only his second public appearance. Mrs. Rindahl, who is one of the ‘accompanists for the Trinity Luth- eran church choir, spoke briefly on church music in introducing the pro- gram. Bach, she said, was the father of church music and has done most for it, especially through his chor- ales. Waggener, which gives the artist’s impression of one of the most brilliant royal wed- dings on record—the wedding of Na- poleon III and Eugenie. The bride's rose point veil on this occasion was made by the women of the city of Liege and was said to have taken a whole year to complete. But on the eve of the wedding it disap- peared. In spite of this, the wedding was successful, for his' ns record that Eugenie was “dazzling in her beau- Uiful laces.” It recently has been learned that the original Eugenie wedding veil has come into the pos- session of the Italian nobility. In connection with this interesting story, a contest is being sponsored in which the first prize will be a beau- tiful $1,000 rose point bridal veil. eee a Y | _ Church Societies | Trinity Luther League The combined devotional and so- cial meeting of the Trinity Luther League scheduled for Friday evening has been postponed until December because of the bazaar and supper, which will occupy the meeting room.
